Howard Weaver to become VP of news at McClatchy

McClatchy named him point man for new media strategies in 1995, and he moved to Sacramento, where he advised senior management on what the digital publishing revolution might mean for the company. In 1997, The Sacramento Bee tapped Weaver to be editor of its editorial pages and a member of the paper’s Executive Committee.
